DECKING THE FRIDGE WITH DIY FRIDGE LINERS

Reading time: 1 Minute

With Spring final here (albeit a bit late), I have been working my way around the house cleaning all the nooks and crannies where funk collects over the winter. Yesterday, I used Murphy’s Oil to clean up my kitchen cabinets – all sparkly now (you don’t even want to know the layer of grime I pulled off of them).

The one area of my kitchen that I find most difficult to keep clean are the refrigerator shelves and drawers. So, when I saw this tutorial from Seven Elles (who’s site seems to no longer exist), I knew I needed to try it for myself.

You’ll need 7 of the $1.99 plastic Room Essentials placemats from Target. They have a ton of fun designs in store (not so much online). Here’s the one I went with:

I gave my entire fridge a deep cleaning and then cut the mats to the size of my shelves. While the Room Essentials placemats are very sturdy, it is possible to cleanly cut the plastic with scissors…big plus for the ease of this project.

I decked out the entire fridge with these DIY fridge liners, and then added liners to the doors as well.

Now when I need to clean the fridge, I can just slip out the liners, give them a scrub then slide them back in. Easy for cleaning the sticky messes the boys inevitably create.

I’ve seen similar liner sets (without door liners) for $25+, but here you get the whole set for a fraction of the price!
