I am a child of the 80’s. Ok, technically I lived 5 months of the 70’s, but that really doesn’t count much, since I don’t remember any of it. Either way, I am totally psyched to be reliving my favorites of the 80’s with my kids. Here are a few of my favorite stocking stuffers – stay tuned until the end of the post – there is a sweet giveaway waiting for you!
I loved Popples as a kid and had a large purple one that I slept with on a regular basis. Netflix recently released both Popples and Care Bears and Cousins for streaming, and the boys are getting to relive a few of my favorites from childhood. Sure, their Popples might be cuddle objects by night, soccer ball substitutes by day, but that what happens when you live with boys, right?
My oldest son is OBSESSED with his Rubik’s Cube. He has been working on it for 8 months or so, and has finally started to get 1 or 2 sides complete at a time. As a puzzle lover, he loves twisting his Rubik’s cube as he sleeps. My middle son doesn’t know yet, but he is getting the 2×2 version in his stocking this year. Now he can be just like his big brother!
Pocket Sports Game
The boys have loved playing my husband’s handheld video games on our long car rides. A 30+ year old version of electronic Connect 4 has been a favorite in our house for years, so I was excited to see football and basketball versions of the game in stores!
I have been using Mabel’s Labels since my first son was born. This year, all of the kids (and my sister) are getting a pack of Mabel’s Labels personalized just for them! Aren’t they the cutest? The stocking stuffer combos each come with 6 labels and a tag. There are TONS to choose from and you can mix and match! We put the tags on their school bags or lunches so that they have a non-permanent identifier of whose is whose.
Netflix Gift Card
Last year I gave my sister and mom gift subscriptions to Netflix. Now both of them are addicted … my sister is watching reruns of Gilmore Girls and my mom is crazy about Alias and Taxi Brooklyn. This year I want one of you to add Netflix as a stocking stuffer with Netflix! This is a quick giveaway, open to residents of the contiguous United States.
