I am looking forward to the next few weeks when people start decorating for the holidays. I find that it is hard to be stressed or annoyed during the season when festive lights are brightening up the dark night.
Last year was the first year we took the boys on a late night tour of the neighborhood when it was all decked out in decorations. They loved seeing the waving Santas, lights blinking to the beat of holiday tunes, and the overall gaudiness of it all. This year, we’re adding another layer to the viewing fun.
We tested out Holiday Specs, 3D glasses that project holiday themed images of snowflakes, reindeer, Santa, candy canes, elves, ornaments, gingerbread men, snowmen, angels, and holiday stars. With a string of Christmas lights strung across the basement, we put on the $1.50 glasses and enjoyed looking at the clear holographic images that appeared at each light point. Honestly, these glasses were a lot more fun than we thought they would be and after a half hour, we had to bribe the kids up to bed by promising they could play with the glasses again tomorrow. We’ll also definitely be putting them on to jazz up our neighborhood light show. Interested in trying out some Holiday Specs for yourself? Until November 22, you can go to the Holiday Specs Facebook page and enter to win 100 customized glasses for your family!
