I felt like I waited YEARS for my kids to be old enough to create cute projects that I could hang on the fridge.
And then they made so much of it, that my fridge disappeared.
I mean seriously, it became a game of “find the handle” every time I needed to grab some water or get a snack for the kids. To say that the fridge art display was not working for us, was an understatement.
So, I decided to create an alternative to display their work in our dining-room-turned-office (more about THAT renovation to come soon!).
I used a 6 foot piece of leftover wood from the IKEA clearance area, but any old 1′ by 4′ would work (cut to your desired length).
Once it was dry, I used an X-acto knife (check out my favorite – cheap – X-acto set here) to cut off the pieces of cork that hung over the sides of the board.
Finally, I added two sawtooth picture hooks to the back of the plank and hung it on the wall.
The kids love having a formal place to display their creations and I love having my fridge back!
