It is almost Halloween and I am getting in the decorating mood! The boys and I completed our first project of the season yesterday when I brought home an orange dollar store bucket that I wanted to transform into a candy bucket.

See, in our neighborhood everyone goes out and walks around with the kids, so everyone with trick or treaters leaves a bucket on the porch with candy. However, for the past 6 years I have been unprepared and usually end up grabbing a random bowl from the house and throwing the candy in it on the way out the door.

This year I am prepared!

Halloween Candy Bucket

The boys and I chose this Trick or Treat from the Silhouette store and a spider. Using a Halloween themed font we typed “Please take 2” (because let’s face it, I never buy the full sized bars). We put the spider in the inside so hopefully we spook a child that puts their hand in the grab candy once some is gone. The neighborhood is dark, so a good fright is totally possible!

Crafting with boys

The boys love setting up the machine and watching the vinyl cut. If you haven’t gotten a Silhouette Cameo and you do any kind of crafting, teaching, scrapbooking, or decorating – you NEED one! Just saying.
