I really need to get the accessories and finishing touches up in the boys’ beach-themed shared bedroom so I can get started on the nursery before Baby 3 arrives. This past weekend, I put together a quick, cheap, and easy ocean art for the room using some abandoned plastic ocean animal toys, a piece of scrapbook paper, some spray paint, and Gorilla Glue.
Here’s how I did it:
- I first used scissors to flatten out the backs of the animals (back fins, arm of the scuba diver, etc.) so that they would be easier to glue (Note: animals from the Safari Ltd Coral Reef Toob were easy to cut with my scissors.)
- I spray painted most of the animals navy blue, but sprayed the seahorse bright yellow.
- After animals dried, I used a few dabs of Gorilla Glue to attach the toys to the scrapbook paper.
- I slid my new “art work” into a frame, and it was ready to hang!
I love the clean design and 3D quality. Do you have any toys you are considering turning into art?
