Bookworms can be hard to buy for sometimes. I know, I am one.
The most obvious gift, books, can be difficult to purchase, because often bookworms have read the majority of books in their genre(s) of choice. So, unless you’ve been given specific direction, or have obscure tastes or knowledge of books, this is probably not a great gift option.
This year why not try giving your Literacy Lover a gift that gives back – more than once? Rob Shindler, author of Hot Dogs and Hamburgers, is giving you that opportunity. His book, which recounts how his struggles in teaching his son to read led to a lengthyvolunteer stint with Literacy Chicago where he used creative and unconventional techniques to teach adults to read.
Besides inspiring the recipient of the book to help others to find the joy in literacy, Shindler is offering the book at a discounted price ($13.00 which included taxes and shipping) as well as donating the proceeds ($4.00) after publishing costs, taxes, and shipping to a charity of my choice. After reading the book and becoming inspired by what Literacy Chicago has done for promoting adult literacy, I am going to ask Shindler that any proceeds from sales from my code go to support that organization.
How to buy:
- Go to Rob Shindler’s author website.
- See where it says Buy it Forward on the right sidebar and click where it says Click Here to Buy.
- Enter my code dogood7 (all lowercase) for the discounted price and to have part of the proceeds donated.
