We are headed to Disney World again soon! Number 1 on my oldest son’s to-do list this time is to trade with Jawas. He has saved junk for them over the past few months, having heard that Jawa trading is sometimes more successful with shiny objects.
I couldn’t bear the thought of carrying these knick knacks all over Disney in a plastic baggy. Thus, my oldest and I took 5 minutes and sewed these little bags together.
Wanting to personalize the bags, I looked up how to say “trade” in Aurebesh (the Jawa written language). I recreated “trade” in gold foil bought from Pro World. The pictures do no justice for the intense shininess of the foil.
Here are some of the items going in the bag to bring for trading at Disney World’s Hollywood Studios: extra foil, a clip, a picture hanger, a screw, a pin from my seventh grade language olympics, a whistle, coils, and a few other random objects.
We also made an extra (identical) trade bag. We have heard that the Jawas sometimes try to steal/trade for items you own and want. I didn’t want the boys to get upset if asked to trade their trade bag, so it was easy enough to just make a duplicate.
We will update you after Disney to let you know how successful we were! Have you had a chance to trade with Jawas? Do you have any tips for my Star Wars fanatics before our trip?
