I have a guilty pleasure that is not so secret.

Baby's Coffee

It is totally worth the 6 mile drive down Overseas Highway in the morning to get a Baby’s iced coffee. It is seriously the absolute best cold brew that I have ever had, and when I am up north I get intense cravings for the smooth, sweet taste of Baby’s Coffee.

My husband has tinkered for a few years and come pretty close to perfection with this iced coffee. We’re here today to share the recipe with you.

Iced Coffee Recipe

Add Extra Coffee

Because the ice tends to dilute the beans, when I brew iced coffee I tend to use about 25% more coffee than I would for just regular hot coffee. So, if you use 4 scoops, use 5 instead.

Shake in Some Cinnamon

Add a few shakes of cinnamon into the ground beans and set up the coffee maker in this order: filter or basket, coffee, cinnamon on top. We use the Hamilton Beach 2 Way Flex Brew because we like that it can brew 12 cups on one side or a single serving on the other. This is perfect for us so that if we have people over, we don’t have to wait for a bunch of single servings to brew, but we can still just make ourselves a cup of coffee if we want without wasting all of the excess from the pot.

Fill a Drink Container with Ice

Fill your drink cup with ice. I’d suggest using a plastic cup when pouring a hot brew over ice. The mixture of hot and cold can crack ice.

Add Sugar

If you like sugar in your coffee, now’s the time to add it (before you pour the coffee in).

Add a Hint of Chocolate

Now it’s time for the special sauce (we use Hershey’s Chocolate syrup). A tablespoon is probably enough, but definitely experiment on your own.

Pour

Pour the coffee over the ice, sugar, and chocolate syrup.

Add Cream

Add the cream. Again, this is an optional step depending on how you like your coffee. But if you do use cream, pour it in last.

Shake it. Shake it real good.

Perhaps the most critical step is to stir the entire concoction vigorously. Make sure everything gets mixed up real good.

Your Drink is Now Ready.

Serve and enjoy!

Check out the Hamilton Beach 2 Way Flex Brew and see why we like having the flexibility to brew just a cup or brew a whole pot with the same machine. It has a compact design, so we were able to slide it in the little nook under our low kitchen counters. We like that we can use K-Cups or ground coffee without any extra accessories to clean. We also thought the controls were easy to use and liked that the it had an auto shut off feature.

We have the original FlexBrew and love it. I’ve been anxiously waiting to upgrade but our coffee maker is still going strong. 🙂 I take my coffee every which way. I love lattes but also love a good cup of home brewed coffee with milk and Splenda. We even roast our own beans sometimes and always grind them up fresh. Also, can’t forget my Cuban coffee and cafe con leche. Just love coffee!

It really depends on the day! There’s a lot of cold morning in Iowa, so I typically go for a good ole hot medium roast with milk or cream. During the summer afternoons though I love to experiment with chilled coffee and ice cream, coffee cubes and different kinds Silk…You name it, I’ll try it! I love changing up my coffee style!

I make coffee ice cubes. I take espresso and my favorite bean of the day. Brew a whole pot of coffee, once cool put in trays, freeze.
Next time I want an iced coffee, I will brew a single serve coffee.
I place 3 cubes in a tall plastic cup.
I put in 2 packets of pure Stevia (no chemicals)
I then take the freshly brewed coffee add some sweet Italian cream, pour it over the ice cubes and Stevia.

I just love it, perhaps you may try it.
