When my oldest, Buddy, was younger, we attended several types of Mommy and Me classes – swim, music, gym. As a new mom in a new city, these outings were as much for me as they were for him. Case in point: I met one of my closest friends as we swam with our tiny infants. By the time Little Guy and Iggy came into the picture, I already had my “mommy friends” and playdates out the wazoo. My days became consumed with juggling working full-time with preschool drop off and pick up, meeting up with friends, and the insanity that comes with co-managing a household of five.
Makin’ Music recently released a DVD series which brings the magic of their classes into your home. Designed specifically for preschoolers, the DVDs invite your child to sit in on a music class and participate in a curriculum-based musical experience. Buddy and Little Guy recently tried out one of their videos.
The kids loved the energetic teachers and the movement and instrumental activities they engaged the kids in during the 30-minute “classes.” I was impressed with the quality of the filming and the way the Makin’ Music for Families DVDs capture the essence of being in an in-person class.
