I have three main faults that stand in my way of being a fashionista:
1. I am practical.
2. I am “thrifty”.
3. I am usually a season behind the trends.
Growing up with a trendy sister and a fashionable mom, I watched as they followed trends and experimented with their looks. I, on the other hand, have always been more of a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl, though I do like to use jewelry and handbags to make myself look a bit unique. When I was recently introduced to the daily deals site, Modnique, I was thrilled to see they had options for thrifty, fashion hopefuls like me, as well as high-end options for knowledgeable fashion folks like my little sister.
I was recently given the opportunity to try out Modnique…I know you want to see the deals I scored, right?
For $75, I bought matching hoodie and sweatpants sets for my 4 year old and 2 year old at $12 a piece, new sneakers for my 2 year old (marked down to $13!?!?!), and 2 irresistible New Generals Organic bodysuits for the new baby – fashioned with rock and roll style bug designs. You know my kids are going to be the most fashionable kids on the block this winter and spring, right?
With three boys, I look for quality in clothing since I know that many items will get worn by more than one of my kids. I am willing to pay a little more for a piece of clothing that I am pretty sure won’t unravel, get holey, or shrink. My boys are also texture-conscious like I am when it comes to clothing, so only soft clothes that allow them to move around easily make their cut (Who can blame them, right?). Modnique also had lots of options for me and my husband – I was definitely eyeing a pendant necklace for me and a new belt for the hubs, but we ultimately decided to “treat” the kids to some fresh duds instead.
I had been a deal site fanatic long before my introduction to Modnique, though I definitely know I will be using this site again in the future. For the price I would have paid for 1 pair of kid’s shoes at my local shoe shop, I was able to get the kids 4 cute outfits AND a pair of quality shoes. Win, win!
Since November 7th, Modnique has been running 20 Days of Deals, where amazing buys are revealed at 6 AM PST – I even saw the iPad mini there for peanuts last week! Follow new deals on their blog or Facebook page. Shipping on all orders $99 and above are free and many items ship within 24 hours. If you still want to know more, here’s a video from ABC 15!
Happy holiday shopping! Let me know what deals YOU score!

That sounds fantastic! I’ve never heard of modnique before, but can’t wait to check them out. My boys are also VERY texture-conscious, so clothes shopping for them can be a nightmare.
