Today was a very good day. See, last week I started compiling Christmas lists for the boys. Once thing I have noticed about gifts is that the older the kids get, the more expensive the most desirable gifts become. Now that there are three boys and we just fully gutted and renovated two bathrooms, the budget is a little tighter. I went to the Just Between Sale in Oaks today with what I thought was a super unlikely wishlist.
Thing is, I found everything I wanted and more for out of this world prices.
I was so excited when I walked into the sale because it was so much bigger than I remembered. And then I realized this picture only captures about 1/4 of the room – it curved around to the right and took up what seemed to be a football field of space. Toys, clothes, games, baby items, shoes, EVERYTHING.
My list prior to attending #JBFPhilly was the following:
- Disney Infinity figurines
- Star Wars anything
- boots – size 1
I started over in the video gaming area and there were boxes and boxes of Disney Infinity and Skylanders items. Some were new in box, others were packaged as grab bags. I picked up a lot of 12 figures, a portal, a game disc, and dozens of power discs for $15. The figurines sell for $14.99 a piece retail! I also grabbed a pack of 2 Marvel figurines for $7 and a pack of 5 Skylanders for $6. All of these figurines are compatible with our updated gaming systems and will make awesome stocking stuffers. I didn’t need the Disney Infinity game disc or portal, but at that price, it was cheaper to buy everything than to buy just one figurine. I’ll resell or gift the actual starter pack at a later time.
Next I headed over to the costumes. Two entire rows of costumes from baby to big kid – it was a dress up fan’s dream! I hunted briefly for a Darth Vader costume, and then got distracted when I found a friend. There were so many to choose from – parents will certainly be happy if they are heading to the JBF sale at Oaks to find a costume!
I am not sure if you can tell from this photo, but the rows of clothing seem endless. Organized by size and gender, there are tons of affordable clothes to find at the JBF sale at Oaks! What you don’t see is the 3-4 rows of clothing to the right of this photo and the 4 rows of shoes, gloves, and belts behind me. If you are coming for clothing, you are sure to find something you like!
I ran into my friend Kelly from Delco Deal Diva as she was shopping for her daughter. That was a wonderful surprise!
Now, when going to a Just Between Friends – Western Mainline consignment sale, there are certain things you can do to make the experience more enjoyable. Bring a laundry basket or huge bag to hold all of your treasures. They have IKEA bags for you to use at the sale, but I find having a basket tied to a string is so much easier to stash stuff in!
My haul included:
- Disney Infinity 1.0 game/portal, 9 characters, several dozen power discs – $15
- Disney Infinity 2.0: 2 characters – $7
- Skylanders: 5 characters – $6
- Skylanders storage case – $6
- winter boots, size 1 – $4
- rollerblades, adjustable size 1-4 – $3
- Spirograph kit, new – $2
- Star Wars game, new – $4
Total Cost – $47 plus tax
