9 Netflix Shows I Watch Alone

Disclosure: I am a member of the Netflix #StreamTeam and have received streaming services and a streaming device as part of my relationship. All opinions expressed within are my own and have not been influenced in any way.

After the kids go to bed, my husband and I like to veg on the couch together with our Netflix shows and tech…that is, unless it hockey season (winter/spring), Olympic weeks (summer), or football season (Thursday, Sunday, Monday all Fall). I am a big Philly sports fan, but I don’t feel the need to watch the game – especially in a house of boys bleeding loyalty for Washington DC teams.

When the Hubs has the remote, I head upstairs to binge on my favorite just-for-me shows.

1. Hart of Dixie

I am finishing up season 3, and I am team Wade all the way. In the beginning, I thought Wade was too much of a playboy for Dr. Hart – but now, if she doesn’t end up with him…I will be heartbroken! Joel, while nice, just doesn’t seem like a good fit. I am also really entangled in Annabeth’s storyline. Don’t tell me what happens to the sweetest girl in the south…

2. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

Kimmy’s lack of street smarts are so endearing, and Titus is just too much not to love.

3. Orange is the New Black

I have been hooked on this show from the beginning. The raunch factor is a bit much for the Hubs, but the characterization in this show is the best on TV.

4. Friday Night Lights

My pal Sarah from Finnegan and the Hughes got me to try FNL, and for someone who doesn’t get football, I can sure say that this show is fascinating.

5. Glee

I watched Glee from the very beginning on Fox, and now am watching it again on Netflix. I loved the social themes of this show, Will Schuster’s character, and the music – oh the music! My favorite is Gwenneth Paltrow’s edition of Cee-lo Green’s “F- You” – as good as the original!

6. Parenthood

Another show I watched on TV from the beginning and am watching again, Parenthood’s family’s drama makes every other family I know look like saints.

7. Fixer Upper

#Shiplap – need I say more? Yes, Magnolia Market is on my bucket list.

8. Jane the Virgin

One of my most favorite binges this year, Jane the Virgin, reminds me of Hart of Dixie in that I find myself desperately rooting for Jane to date Rafael over Michael – for reasons that are only based on gut reactions.

9. Friends

Friends was one of the defining shows of my teen-life, helping me to envision what to expect from adulthood.

I love Hart of Dixie. I seriously cried when they cancelled it, and I just finished rewatching the series on Netflix. I’m always rewatching Gilmore Girls and I wish they we create more episodes of The Ranch.
