Let’s face it…the IDEA of having the kids stay up until midnight to see the ball drop and the actuality of it are quite different (heck, I haven’t seen the ball drop myself since circa 2008). If somehow the kids did miraculously make it to 12 AM, I am sure the next day would be something epic – like the kind of day novels are written about. My kids do not do well without sleep, so that is where the Netflix New Year’s Eve Countdown comes in.
But before the New Year’s Eve Countdown begins, I want to countdown our family’s favorite streaming of the year:
10. The Christmas Prince
Oh, Netflix, I need a million more of these. I have a soft spot for romantic and funny Christmas movies, and The Christmas Prince had the formula down for a total hit!
9. My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
All three boys were all about My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. When they needed a little downtime after school, they would all curl up in the bed and watch this one together. This was one they always agreed on!
8. Skylanders Academy
We play Skylanders on our WiiU, so the Netflix original series Skylanders Academy was highly anticipated from the beginning. They love that the show brings their favorite characters to life!
7. Boss Baby
What’s not to love about a baby that acts like a grown up? The boys crack up hysterically at this household favorite.
In our opinion, Moana is the Disney movie with the best soundtrack. Oh, we love it! My littlest streams this movie on repeat.
5. True and the Magic Kingdom
My 4 year old watches this show a lot. The funny cat in the show is a hit.
Another movie with a great soundtrack, Trolls is one we stream on repeat.
3. Zac Storm
The boys tell me the talking sword is the best part of the show. The magic sword lets them escape into an alternative world for a while.
2. Abominable Christmas
This was a new-to-us Christmas movie this year and one we watched several times as a family.
1. All the POKÉMONS!
In this house, Pokémon is alway the winner. They watch every episode of every series multiple times over. They claim it is research for the local POGOing.
What were your family’s favorite things to stream in 2017?
