Disclosure: Step2 provided a Wild Whirlpool Water Table as part of the Step2 Toy Tester program to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own and have not been influenced by Step2 or anyone else.
It has been a record year of snowfall here in the northeast, and we are all going stir crazy being cooped up in the house together. When Step2 sent over their Wild Whirlpool Water Table, I knew that there was no way the boys were going to let me wait until it was warm enough to open it up and test it out. The boys collected balls from around the house and put them into the water table.
Even without water, the boys have had a blast with the Step2 Wild Whirlpool Water Table. They created several educational games, such as:
- Using the net provided with the water table, we collected balls to demonstrate our knowledge of various vocabulary that described the size and shape of the balls.
- We examined cause and effect by putting balls in the boat and throwing balls at the boat and base of the boat to knock it over without knocking the boat off the base.
- We used our reasoning skills to see which balls we could fit through the water wheel.
We are excited to try the full functionality of this toy this spring, when we can add up to 15 gallons of water and use the spinning octopus to create a whirlpool effect, the tower to have a water vortex and spinning wheel, and other toys to add to the splashy fun. And, priced at under $40, you’ll get a lot of bang for your buck with this Made in America toy.
I would definitely recommend this as a summer outside toy that can be brought inside for winter and used in creative ways.
