With the exception of old Tom and Jerry episodes on morning TV, the boys exclusively stream their entertainment from Netflix. It is such instant gratification, right? Instead of just the one or two shows on the mom-approved cable channels, they can select from anything on a huge menu of items. Its like the Cheesecake Factory for television – there is literally a little of everything on the menu.
The kids each have their favorites.
The baby is OBSESSED with Dinotrux, but also enjoys some choo-choos like Thomas the Tank Engine and Chuggington, too.
The older boys love Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Wild Kratts, and Octonauts.
And they ALL love Little Einsteins and Calliou – why? Why? WHY?
Me? I’ve been trying to sneak in a bit of my favorite family-friendly option – Fuller House. I binge watched the entire series myself one week and cannot wait for more. I grew up with these characters and I want my kids to love the revival of this show as much as I do. My middle guy loves foreign languages, so he identified with Kimmy and her trademark phrase, “Hola Tannerinos!” Sure, he doesn’t quite get who the Tanners are yet, but he will – he will!
The boys are always fighting over the control of the remote, vying to watch their favorite Netflix show. This month, Netflix came to the rescue. They created this adorable fortune teller (or if you are a Philly gal like me, you call it a cootie catcher) to help you choose what show to watch next.
Let me tell you, this little piece of paper genius solved all of our show-choosing woes. The boys want to watch their shows, but they ARE willing to submit to the wisdom of the fortune teller. So, together, we chose 4 shows to write inside the printable fortune teller, and let fate decide what show we would watch.
First, we chose Yellow, so we spelled out Y-E-L-L-O-W.
Then we chose the number 3, so we open and closed the fortune teller 3 times.
Finally we chose the number 5 and got our wish ….
DinoTrux for the win!
What are you watching on Netflix this month as a family?
