We woke up this morning with nothing to do and a craving for some fresh fruit, so we packed up the boys in the car for the short drive to the local orchard for some peach picking. After signing up for a picking permit at Highland Orchards market, we off-roaded to the peach groves for some picking.
Everyone enjoyed sampling the fruit – the peaches were so flavorful and juicy!
And Little Guy was fascinated with feeding the goats.
We enjoyed the inexpensive and educational morning at the orchard, and will be back to pick more fruit soon – blackberries and sweet corn are also in season, and apples will be coming in soon. We enjoy showing our children where their food comes from – and supporting the local growers is a big plus for us.
How have you supported local growers this summer?
