Our superhero party had lots of superhero-themed snacks!
A yard sale frame and some superhero “guys” greeted guests and encouraged them to eat some Captain America butter cookies.
Food included the cookies, homemade chocolate covered pretzels, cones of popcorn, cupcakes baked in ice cream cones, veggies, personalized water bottles, and Honest Kids juice. The table runner and Pop! box were created using Smart-Fab non-woven fabric. I loved that it was durable, yet really easy to manipulate and work with for this purpose.
I wrapped the labels of the water bottles in yellow Duck Tape and added a photocopied picture of my son to the label. I gave a gritty look to the picture by using colored pencils to highlight the blue and red in the shield.
I decorated the top of the Pop! box with the superhero Duck Tape, and I created the popcorn cones by rolling a half sheet of the comics page from our newspaper (with wax paper on the inside so the popcorn never touched the newsprint).
The pretzels were super easy and yummy! All I did was dip Herr’s pretzels in some milk chocolate candy melts – and then added sprinkles or a drizzle of a different color candy melt. 15 minutes tops to make a whole batch!
The superhero cupcakes started with a regular cupcake pan, stocked with cupcake liner inserts, and covered completely with foil. I cut a hole where each cupcake would normally go, and slid the cone in standing up. Then I fill each one 2/3 of the way up with regular cupcake batter.
Here’s the result! I added a little topper to give it some pizzaz!
