I was ready to decorate for the holidays in October. I didn’t do it, but I really, really wanted to. I am in full on holiday crafting mode, browsing magazines, Pinterest, and my own head for inspiration. When I saw the buffalo plaid pillows on the cover of the Fall-Winter Make It Yourself magazine, I knew I needed them.

I have been obsessed with buffalo check (plaid) and had already ordered a yard and a half of flannel that was waiting for a project.

You hear my rave all the time about my Silhouette CAMEO and how it is the one crafting tool that I would have difficulty doing without. Last week I made these shirts for the boys on printed heat transfer material for this year’s Christmas cards. My husband and I are total nerds, so we made these shirts as a play on our last name. Do you get it?

I love that my Silhouette CAMEO also cuts fabric, so when I was inspired by some cute pillows in Make It Yourself this month, I popped into my silhouette software, typed an ampersand, and used it to cut a piece of buffalo plaid flannel that I had attached sewable fabric interfacing to the back of.

The Silhouette CAMEO cut my design perfectly, and within 10 minutes I had two great pillows to cozy up my home for the holidays!
