Last night the boys and I had the chance to catch a screening of The Good Dinosaur, Disney PIXAR’s newest collaboration. The movie follows Arlo, an endearing dinosaur in his journey to “make his mark” on the world. Along the way, he meets a cast of characters, including Spot, the dog-like cave baby, a family of T-Rex’s, and my favorite, Forrest Woodbush, the eccentric triceratops. We were inspired to create a dinosaur gift guide because we know your kids are going to be inspired after seeing the movie!
The boys really liked the movie, especially the funny parts (and boy were some parts funny). The storyline was really tragic, though, and my 4 year had lots of questions about death afterward. So, if you have a sensitive child, be prepared for these conversations.
The Good Dinosaur, out this Thanksgiving in theaters, is sure lead to parents searching for the perfect dinosaur gifts for their children this holiday. I am so excited because I finally have a child interested in dinosaurs. My first two had no interest in dinosaurs, by my toddler is all into them! Since we have lots of dinosaur gifts on our list this year, I thought I would share a few of my favorites with you.
This set of The Good Dinosaur figurines is a great value for any fan. It includes all of the characters needed to reenact scenes from the movie. My boys are all love imaginative play with figurines, so this tops our list.
Dinosaur Stuffed Animals
At the movie we saw an adorable toddler with the Arlo Talking Plush. What a cuddly interactive toy for a dinosaur lover?
No dinosaur lovers’ collection is complete with at least one T-Rex. This year the Imaginext Ultra T-Rex tops my toddler’s list. We love all things Imaginext and my 6 year old still plays with these toys, so you definitely get a lot of value for your money.
The Schleich T-Rex is a classic favorite, as well.
We have a few Switch and Go Dinosaurs in our house, and the boys love transforming them and making them go.
Want to add a book under the tree? How Do Dinosaurs Say Merry Christmas? is a great option! We love the whole How Do Dinosaurs… series!
