Disclosure: As a NETGEAR Ambassador, I was provided an Arlo Smart Home video monitor system for my review. All opinions expressed within are my own and have not been influenced in any way.

I have waited for something like Arlo Smart Home for a long time. Over the years we have looked at several video “home security” options, but all have been wired, making them too expensive to install or too difficult to install safely (hanging from the wall, it would have been easy for kids to get themselves wrapped in the cord). When I saw Arlo for the first time, I knew our biggest monitoring problems had been solved.

Monitor the Kids in the Basement

We are fortunate to have a finished basement, and the two bigger boys will often go down there to build LEGOS, play indoor soccer, or have epic lightsaber battles. However, I cannot be down there with them all the time if I am going to get any work done around the house. In the past I have tried to sneak down to see what they are really doing, however, now I can peek in from an app on my phone.

The camera is small and nondescript. It blends right in with my door trim and gives a view of the entire room.

Check on the Grounds While Away

Last year while we were in Florida, we had major storms that left my yard in disrepair. Neighbors sent us texts to let us know of the damage, but all we really wanted to do was see it for ourselves. Since Arlo Smart Home cameras include indoor/outdoor cameras, next time we go away, we can mount it to let us see any weather-related damage or unusual activity around our house.

Crib to Toddler Bed Transition

One of the hardest seasons as a parent is transitioning your child from a crib to a toddler bed. Kids revel in their newfound freedom and get into all kinds of trouble that you never even predicted. Yes, while the dresser is secured to the wall, another danger exists – using the dresser as a diving board.

Our current monitor has a long cord that we feel is unsafe for a toddler on their own to be left with unsupervised. That’s where Arlo Smart Home comes into play. Its wireless wall mount makes cords a non issue.

Monitor Latchkey Kids

Many of you probably have kids who are home for an hour or so before you get home for the day. Arlo Smart Home can help you monitor their actions and safety safely from your cell phone until you are home.

Arlo Smart Home is a great option for home monitoring. With night vision, HD real-time cameras, indoor/outdoor cameras, and motion detectors with notification options, you get a lot of value for your dollar!

You can buy the initial set up in 1, 2, or 4 camera options, or buy add on camera sets for up to 5 cameras on one system!

How would you use Arlo Smart Home?
