Buddy is insistent that Mommy makes him a superhero costume for Halloween. Easy, right? Not so much when your 2-year-old BOY wants to be a superhero who saves the cupcakes of the world. I know that 2-year-olds haven’t completely found their gender identity yet, but I struggle between helping Buddy create his vision and helping him to develop his gender identity. I mean, what would a cupcake-saving superhero even look like??? I doodled this vision while watching Hall Pass tonight:

Buddy the Cupcake-Saving Superhero, complete with whisk and mixing bowl treat bag. Captain Cupcake? The Cupcake Crusader? It is just not working for me.
So, I’ve made up my mind. I’ll make him a superhero outfit and pretend I didn’t hear the cupcake part.
I’ll have Mommy guilt, but he’ll thank me some day.
